Project aims
The Productive Pedagogies project is the first stage of the learning and development program to support curriculum renewal, through Curriculum Framework planning process, in all Queensland schools and is a strategy to engage schools in professional development in Productive Pedagogies and productive assessment.
Education Queensland recognises the need to provide optimal learning and development opportunities for the Education Queensland workforce and recognises that:
- quality teachers are the key to the future of education in Queensland state schools;
- pedagogy in schools should be the focus of professional learning communities;
- teachers learn most effectively in professional learning communities;
- productive leadership is vital to the success of student learning outcomes; and
- there is a need to build partnerships with key stakeholders.
Key areas identified for professional development include:
- Productive Pedagogies;
- how to use assessment; and
- analysis of student work for making decisions about pedagogy.
