In Queensland, we're continuing to build a world-class education system to ensure every child in the Smart State can reach their full potential.
That means providing new educational opportunities for children such as the full-time Prep year and the Queensland Academies.
It means looking for ground-breaking ways to keep young people earning or learning such as by providing pathways into trades and professions through school-based apprenticeships and traineeships and making partnerships with industry.
It means finding innovative ways of helping children gain life skills.
It means helping them achieve their goals by encouraging them to participate in a range of competitions, scholarships and awards programs available to Queensland school students.
All these are explored in schools + parents magazine. As well, there is a range of important articles on the new-look report cards, values education and public speaking.
Please enjoy this first edition of schools + parents for 2007!
