Scope and sequence Years 1-9

The Scope and Sequence Years 1-9 provides useful ideas for scoping the QCAR Essential Learnings.

There is a sequence for each of the eight key learning areas.

The sequences takes into account what is essential for students to know, understand and be able to do by the end of Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 in accordance with the QCAR Essential Learnings. The sequence also considers the scaffolding teachers need to provide for students in Years 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8.

Scope and Sequence Years 1-9 also provides information for teachers about:

literacy genres
numeracy opportunities and demands
possibilities for using information and communications technologies in the learning program for each of the key learning areas in Years 1-9.
