Standards
The Standards provide a common language to describe student achievement.
The Standards:
- describe the degrees of quality evident in student work, that is "how well" the features of student work match the standards. The degrees of quality are expressed as Very High, High, Sound, Limited and Very Limited. This is the range of expected achievement within a five point scale
- comprise two dimensions - Ways of working and Knowledge and understanding
- incorporate the dimensions and the constructs which structure the Essential Learnings
- are supported by the assessable elements (which incorporate the constructs) for each KLA to guide the collection of evidence required to inform judgements about student achievement
- are used to make judgements and describe student achievement
- can be used for reporting student progress and achievement
