Queensland Coding Academy

The first phase of the Queensland Coding Academy, an initiative of Advancing Education: An action plan for education in Queensland, is available. The Academy is an online resource to assist teachers develop students' coding abilities, as we implement the Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies.

The Queensland Coding Academy complements the Curriculum into the Classroom units by providing teachers with an opportunity to develop their understanding and coding skills in the sections 'Have a Go' and 'Go Deeper'. The academy is a simple, yet dynamic environment that will be adapted in response to teachers' needs.

Coding develops students' abilities to identify needs and create digital solutions - essential skills for the future as jobs around the world become more digitised.

The Queensland Coding Academy has been developed from feedback on the #codingcounts discussion paper. Resources are available on the Learning Place for teachers and will be progressively made available to students in Term 2.
