Rural and Remote Education Centres of Excellence

Many schools in rural and remote Queensland have developed innovative teaching and learning practices as well as educator induction and development programs to meet the unique challenges and education needs associated with living and learning in rural and remote locations.

To build on the many successes these schools achieve, the Department will establish up to nine Rural and Remote Education Centres of Excellence during 2007 to 2009.

The Centres of Excellence will receive funding to support the development of processes and programs to share best practice with rural and remote schools across Queensland.
