Remote Area Incentive Scheme (RAIS)

The Remote Area Incentives Scheme (RAIS) is a suite of incentives for permanent and temporary teachers employed in Queensland State Schools by the Department of Education and Training. This scheme recognises the unique opportunities and challenges when working in rural and remote Queensland schools.

Teachers undertaking service in rural and remote locations with a Transfer Rating (TR) of TR 4, TR 5, TR 6 and TR 7 (Transfer Ratings Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheet) may be entitled to:
