State Schools

At the 2011 State School Principals conference, the Department of Education and Training launched a project called C2C - Curriculum into the classroom.

The Curriculum into the classroom project provides state school teachers with comprehensive school and classroom exemplars and resources that will assist in the implementation of the Prep-Year 10 Australian Curriculum in English, mathematics and science from 2012.

The C2C materials are a resource that can be adapted and contextualised to meet student learning needs using innovative contemporary teaching strategies.

The C2C materials are being developed by teachers for teachers and will be reviewed and refined as they are used over time.

The Australian Curriculum will be implemented in the following years:
Year Level of implementation

2011

Queensland teachers become familiar with the new Prep to Year 10 English, mathematics and science curricula.

2012

Queensland schools will teach, assess and report on English, mathematics and science across the year levels using the Australian Curriculum. The Queensland curriculum will remain in place for all other learning areas.

Teachers will also have the opportunity to become familiar with the new P-10 history curriculum.

2013

Queensland schools will teach, assess and report on history (in addition to English, mathematics and science) across P-10 using the Australian Curriculum. The Queensland curriculum will remain in place for the other learning areas.
