Under Section 370 of the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006 (the Act), the governing body of a non-state school must, on or before 30 June each year, give the Queensland Minister for Education financial data, for the school, relating to the previous year of operation of the school.
Section 370(4) of the Act states the source of the data must be the audited financial statements for the school's governing body for the relevant year.
The data to be entered is identical to that provided to the Commonwealth's Department of Education.
Only schools that have been in operation for the whole of 2015 are required to provide the data.

Information derived from the collection is used to determine the School Resource Index (SRI), which is a measure of school income used in the calculation of annual recurrent rates for each school. It is therefore imperative that all schools ensure the accuracy of the data provided and that the data collection form is submitted by the due date.
