BEAM - Learning for Everyday Life

Purpose

This project is intended to provide training for foster and kinship carers to support children's literacy and numeracy through everyday life.

Expenditure guidelines

Courses will be run in clusters of schools, facilitated by a teacher and hosted by a local school. Child minding is provided and a co-facilitator will assist with the delivery of the course. There are 6 modules in a course being presented over 4-6 days.

Eligibility

The Beam project team will be negotiating with clusters of primary schools across the state as the project is rolled out to determine which schools will host the course. That school will then be eligible for the funding.

Payment details

Grants will be provided to schools following negotiation of individual funding agreements.

Allocation of funds

Grant amounts will be negotiated with clusters of schools.
