Allocation of funds

Full-time-equivalent enrolments are used in the calculation of allocations. A weighting of 1/3 is applied to school-based secondary and adult enrolments.

The annual general recurrent allocation of each SDE is determined by the application of a formula which assigns a base plus per student rate: Allocation = [Base + Per Student Rate x FTE] x School Grant Index.

Allocations for Vehicle Leases are based on actual costs.

Printing allocations are determined by a calculation using a proportional share of a total pool of funds.

Grants incorporate utilities, communications and energy costs, except for Brisbane where a specific allocation is provided in addition to the general grant.
