Early Start - Back to Basics

Purpose

To assist state schools to implement and respond to Early Start literacy and numeracy monitoring tasks with Prep to Year 2 students.

Eligibility

State schools with enrolments in Prep to Year 2.

Allocation of funds

A fixed annual budget of $5.746m is allocated to schools based on the following.

*ICSEA is a scale that measures educational disadvantage determined by the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) through the collection of student family background data.
