Healthy Queensland Awards

Purpose

These funds are awards offered under the Toward Q2 Tomorrow's Queensland initiative to find Queensland's healthiest communities, schools and workplaces.

Expenditure guidelines

Funds can be used for infrastructure or programs that promote improved health and well-being.

Award recipients must provide a report at the end of the year outlining use of the funds and contribution towards the Q2 Healthy Targets.

Allocation of funds

$500,000 has been allocated for the schools component of this program for 2009.

The program is administered by Keeping Australia Beautiful (KAB) on behalf of the department. School applications are assessed by KAB and award amounts are based on the costs of the initiatives as per the school applications.
