Hearing Conservation Program

Purpose

This grant is provided to schools to fund the cost of:

Expenditure guidelines

Funds are to be used to pay for hearing tests and ear plugs provided by the approved contractor, Hearing Solutions, who will invoice the school for the relevant costs.

No other provider is to be used.

Duration of program

The duration of the program is ongoing.

Funding will be provided every 2 years for Instrumental Music teachers and Instructors.

Funding will be provided every 5 years for Manual Arts teachers and teacher-aides and Industrial Technology and Design teachers and teacher-aides.

New teachers commencing with EQ will have their hearing tested upon appointment to the department.

Eligibility

All Queensland Department of Education and Training schools with Education Queensland employed staff in the following positions:
