International Services - TRS Professional Development (PD)/Exchange Programs

Purpose

To cover:

  1. TRS paid for teachers to chaperone students going overseas on exchange programs e.g. Swiss exchange or
  2. TRS paid for replacement teachers taking up professional development (PD) courses e.g. China, Germany.

Expenditure guidelines

TRS is for teacher replacement salaries.

Duration of program

Ongoing and usually related to Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the education departments of various countries and the Queensland Department of Education and Training

Policy reference

The exchange program or relevant officer taking up the PD would have an international travel application in TRIM approved by the Minister or Director-General.

Form of assistance

TRS paid to school of incumbent teacher undertaking duties or PD overseas

Payment details

TRS is calculated and paid for the teacher who is replacing the incumbent teacher based on the time he/she will be away.

Allocation of funds

No specific amount as this varies on an annual basis

Data requirements

Daily amount for TRS payments is designated by the department.
