Funds are provided to support the trial of whole-school approaches to improving literacy outcomes for students in economically disadvantaged communities across Queensland.
Forty schools will work in eight primary school clusters to plan and trial whole-school approaches for improving student literacy outcomes. Each cluster will be assisted by a literacy mentor who will assist leaders and teachers to conduct the trials and facilitate appropriate professional development throughout the process.

Equal grants go to each cluster regardless of the number of schools within the cluster.
They are allocated on the basis of $80,000 to cover mentor costs and $50,000 for TRS/professional learning activities.
One school, nominated by the cluster, will manage the fund on behalf of the other cluster schools.
