Literacy Strategy Implementation Program

Purpose

Funds are provided to regions to meet expenses associated with Literacy Professional Development for teachers.

Expenditure guidelines

Regions and schools are to use the allocated funds for professional development for teachers in the area of literacy.
No specific acquittals are required for this funding.

Duration of program

Funds are provided for 2010.

Payment details

Payments are made monthly depending on eligible schools at any given time.

Budget for 2009/10 is $18 million.

Allocation of funds

Payments are based on TRS to cover teachers whilst undertaking the professional development.
