Minor Works Appropriation

Purpose

To assist schools to undertake minor maintenance and new work activities up to the value of $100,000.

Eligibility

All State education facilities.

Allocation of Funds

There are two types of allocations available:

Minor Works Annual Appropriation

Each school will receive a 5,000 base payment and an additional payment based on the previous year. The annual fixed budget paid to schools is $20 million. If the total of allocations exceeds the total, all amounts are adjusted to stay within budget.

New schools receive a graduated increase over their first four years.

Minor Works Contingency Appropriation

An annual budget of $3.5 million is managed by regional offices and is application based. Schools apply to the regional infrastructure advisor and outline why there is an urgent/important need for funding.

Historical data including past grant values, valuation, utilisation and age of buildings.

Minor Works Annual Appropriation is centrally allocated and no application is required.
