Behaviour Management - Positive Learning Centres


To assist Positive Learning Centres to support students of compulsory school age, enrolled in a state school, who at a given point in time require intervention beyond the capacity of a conventional classroom.

The aim is to reintegrate students into mainstream schooling or into more appropriate learning or vocational pathways.

Each Positive Learning Centre determines its own goals, education program and referral/selection procedures, in consultation with a reference or management group comprising regional office representatives, senior guidance officers and school-based personnel (typically a principal).

Positive Learning Centres.

Allocation of funds

A fixed operating grant of $900,000 per annum supporting eligible Positive Learning Centres.

Data requirements

There are currently no specific and scheduled data requirements, but periodically positive learning centres may be requested to provide information.

Semester 1February50%
Semester 2July50%

How to apply

Regions make decisions about the location of a centre and seek the necessary approval for location changes.

Entitlements are automatically paid to eligible schools each semester.
