Remote Area Incentive Scheme (RAIS) Induction Program

Purpose

To assist schools to induct and provide information to teachers relocating to remote indigenous communities by delivering tailored induction programs specific to their region.

The following activities will be typically evident in induction programs provided by each region:

Community and culture - Respect and value

Teaching and learning - Establishing relationships

Keeping yourself well

Duration of program

Eligibility

Schools that are required to induct relocating teachers and are listed in the Remote Area Incentive Scheme schools list Microsoft® Word document 15K.

Allocation of funds

Payments to schools are based on actual costs associated with inducting staff and may include travel, accommodation, venue hire, catering, and facilitators.
