School Improvement - School Reviews


To assist schools with costs associated with the school review program.

The Department of Education regularly reviews Queensland state schools to ensure they're delivering a quality education to students.

All Queensland state schools have a review at least once every four years.

There are three types of school reviews:

Duration of program


Policy reference


State Schools (including IPS, Special and OEEC).

Allocation of funds

Principal peer reviewers: All Queensland state school principals are invited to be trained as peer reviewers and participate in a full school review. Principal peer reviewers from Band 5, 6 and 7 schools are able to receive assistance with TRS to participate in reviews. Current TRS Rate x Number of Days for the review.

Self-determined reviews: Funding, to a maximum of $4650, is available towards the cost of a self-determined review.

Payment details

Payments are made on receipt of a claim form and will be made in the next available monthly payment to schools.
