To provide the Queensland School Sport Council (administered by the Queensland School Sport unit) and the 12 Regional School Sport Offices with funds to assist in meeting the respective representative school sport program costs. These funds assist with sports office administration costs in addition to the costs involved in replacing teachers from school duties who are participating in the representative school sport programs.

A fixed annual allocation of 5,200 administrative assistance (AAEP) hours and 4,400 teacher replacement (TRS) days are allocated across the Queensland School Sport Council and the 12 sport regions.

Funds are allocated based on teacher replacement costs with consideration of the number of state/regional teams, number of teachers per state/regional team, number of national and state championship events being conducted and the number of school days required for competition. The allocation will vary based on the specific representative level of competition (i.e. Regional Trial, State Championship, National/Interstate event). Funds are allocated across the Queensland School Sport Council and the 12 school sport regions.

To be eligible for possible funding, schools must be affiliated with Queensland School Sport, through their Regional School Sport Board.
Schools wishing to participate in representative sporting competitions should contact their local Regional School Sports Officer who will assist them to participate and facilitate requests to access available funding on the school's behalf.
