Teacher Relief Scheme - TRS

The Teacher Relief Scheme (TRS) provides for short term absences of less that five consecutive days for classroom teachers.

TRS is managed within two broad categories:

Expenditure guidelines

The TRS scheme funds the relief of teachers for short term paid absences through the provision of cash to the school.

The scheme also provides access to a centrally managed TRS safety net fund for individual schools experiencing difficulties managing local short term sick, special and emergent leave.

Schools are required to provide an acquittal of expended funds only when applying for TRS Safety Net relief.

Duration of program

The provision of TRS to eligible schools is recurrent.
