This grant provides funding to schools to finance the ongoing usage of voice telecommunications services for both administrative and curriculum purposes.

A cash grant is paid to schools.

| Semester 1 | April | Rolling average of preceding three years to a maximum of the expenditure in Semester 2 of the previous year. |
| Semester 2 | October | Rolling average of preceding three years to a maximum of the expenditure in Semester 1 of the current year. |
Funding for all schools is determined from a rolling average of Voice Telecommunications billing.
Because payment of Voice Telecommunications accounts occurs centrally, concurrent with the payment of a Semester Grant, the actual billing for the preceding semester will be recovered. For example, the actual billing for Semester 1 2011 will be recovered at the same time the payment of the Semester 2 2011 Grant is made.
Please note: The value of the grant will not exceed actual expenditure for the previous semester.
