Behaviour Management Program Grant (YSNB)

Purpose

The Behaviour Management Program Grant allocates funds to:

Expenditure guidelines

Each district nominates a school that receives the Behaviour Management Program Grant. The expenditure of the funds is a decision that is made in consultation with key stakeholders in the district.

Form of assistance

The Behaviour Management Program Grant is provided as a district cash grant to a host school nominated by each district.

Payment details

The Behaviour Management Program Grant is paid once per semester in February and October.

Allocation of funds

An amount of $900,000 is allocated each semester, distributed on the basis of the following data for each district:

A rurality factor is applied to the outcome generated using the data above

PLUS

an operational grant of $520 per semester or $1040 per year is allocated to the base location of the 290 behaviour management teachers.

As from 2005, the Alternative Education Program (AEP) and the Behaviour Management Resource Grant have been combined to enhance the effective use of these resources in providing behaviour management services. Districts are allocated the funds to allow district clusters to determine the best use.
