English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) Dependants


To support the English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) needs of school-aged dependants of international students in the 500's visa classification (excluding 571).

$4125 per student annually February & July 50% paid 6 monthly

Allocation of funds and form of assistance

Regions are funded $4125 per annum per dependant student of international students in the 500's visa classification (excluding 571) with identified EAL/D needs. This funding will continue for each year that such a dependant student participating in state schooling is identified as requiring EAL/D support.

Schools are to record EAL/D need and support for dependants of international students via the Individual Support Profile facility available on OneSchool.
