Funds are provided to install solar power systems, other energy efficient and sustainable measures within schools.
Funds are expended according to the National Partnership Agreement established for the National Solar Schools Program (NSSP). Funds can only be expended on eligible projects identified in the National Solar Schools Guidelines and based on school applications.
An acquittal process is in place and was established in 2009 with the Capital Works Programming Unit. Data on school projects is captured prior to funds being allocated to schools through GAPS.
