Funds are provided to install sustainable and other energy efficient measures within schools.
All schools have been registered with the (NSSP). When notified of available funds schools apply to the Department of Education and Training (DET) based on the project they wish to undertake. Any funding provided must be spent on the approved project according to the guidelines of the NSSP program. DET provides final approval of expenditure.
The funding will be associated with the cost centre YNCD.
Schools do not have to acquit these funds in the school annual report process but will be asked to provide separate financial acquittals of project expenses.
This is a seven year program commencing in 2008 and finishing in 2014.
