Sun Smart Clothing for School Staff (YNSO)

Purpose

Funds are provided to schools for the provision of sun smart clothing to schools officers/unit support officers/boat officers and agricultural assistants currently employed by Education Queensland.

Expenditure guidelines

The grant will be associated with the cost centre YNSO and schools will be expected to follow the process outlined in the Specification for purchase of Sun smart clothing document Adobe PDF document 237k. Schools do not have to acquit these funds in the school annual report process.

Duration of program

This is a one-off payment to schools.

Eligibility

State Schools that have an allocation for permanent full time schools officer/s (grounds and facilities); unit support officer/s; boat officer/s; agricultural assistants or employ casual schools officer/s (grounds and facilities) from 'Groundscare Allowance' funds.

Form of assistance

Eligible schools will receive the targeted grants direct to their school account.

By criteria below May/June 2008 40% ($75 or $50)
By criteria below October 2008 60% ($150 or $120)

Allocation of funds

Schools will be allocated funds on the following criteria.

Schools with permanent FTE allocated Schools officer/s; Unit support officer/s; boat officer/s; Agricultural Assistant/s will receive $75 May/June + $150 October = Total $225 per FTE.

Schools that receive 'Groundscare Allowance' and have employed a casual staff member (on TSS) will receive $50 May/June + $120 October = Total $170 per school.
