Protection for school students against Dengue

On 01 February 2009, the Premier, Anna Bligh announced that the State Government would distribute free insect repellent to all schools in the dengue watch area to combat the dengue fever outbreak.

Queensland Health is supplying and distributing Aerogard Odourless roll-on insect repellent to the schools in the dengue watch area. Schools have been provided with advice from Queensland Health and an Information Sheet: Insect Repellent in Dengue Watch Schools (new window) 336k Microsoft® Word document. They have also been provided with the Written Authority for the Supply and use of Insect Repellent -Aerogard Odourless Roll-on consent form (new window) 36k Microsoft® Word document.

It is advised that schools in the dengue watch area are required to access and use this information in managing the current dengue outbreak.
