Families and communities
We acknowledge the diverse groups of Aboriginal families and Torres Strait Islander families and their communities from across Queensland.
Building strong relationships between the home, the school and the students, is one of the most important ways for Indigenous students to reach their full potential at school.
There are a number of projects and resources available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities to become involved in the education of their children.
- Crossing Cultures
Crossing Cultures is a training initiative developed by Education Queensland to broaden employees' understanding of both the cultural factors common to most Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the cultural factors of the local community in which they work.
