There are more than 39 000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students attending Queensland state schools - making up more than 8 per cent of all state school students.
Of these, 56 per cent attend state schools in urban areas, 24 per cent in rural areas and 20 per cent in remote areas.
87 per cent of all Indigenous school students are enrolled in state schools.
88 per cent of the 1275 state schools across Queensland have 1 or more Indigenous students. 22 state schools have 200+ Indigenous students.
