Regional Indigenous Education Plans

Schools and regions are using the Indigenous Education Strategic Directions 2008-2011 plan to inform their planning and ensure that education services, programs and resources are sharply focused on improving education outcomes for Indigenous students in state schools. Regional plans are being developed in partnership with Queensland's Indigenous communities to improve education. The department has a strong focus on achieving measurable improvement in all Indigenous students' attendance, achievement and retention.

Each region is responsible for setting targets to reduce the literacy and numeracy gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous students through data-driven and place-based strategies.
