Partners for Success is Education Queensland's key strategy for the continuous improvement of education and employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Education Queensland.
The strategy was originally developed in 2000 as a direct response to the Review of Education and Employment Programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, which was conducted in 1999 and focused upon Six New Policy areas for Indigenous Education.
The strategy also trialled establishing renewed relationships between schools and community through School-Community Compacts in 38 Queensland state schools during 2000-02, and the development of a statewide Charter.
The strategy has now been reinvigorated through the development of an Action Plan and School Information Kit for 2003-05.
The Partners For Success Action Plan 2003-2005 Executive Summary and Partners For Success School Information Kit 2003-2004 outline a three-year implementation strategy that is designed to provide an overall coordinated approach within the Department by building on a range of existing initiatives, to effectively address issues associated with Indigenous educational outcomes.
The Executive Summary and School Information Kit present priority action areas to drive and deliver improvement, key targets to measure progress, information to help schools address Indigenous education issues locally, school planning processes and strategies for celebrating and sharing success.
