How many MIS Administrators can our school have?

There can only be one official MIS Administrator at each school. This person is nominated by the Principal using the MIS Administrator Nomination/Change Request Form (new window) [an error occurred while processing this directive] Microsoft® Word document. This Administrator is automatically subscribed to the MIS-Admin discussion list. The official MIS Administrator can delegate most MIS Admin tasks to other staff as needed. However they will not have access to the Manage School Tab under Administration.

Can my school change its domain name?

Yes. Under the previous MIS many schools had abbreviations of their school name as their domain name. Schools may now request to have their full name as their domain name by filling out the Domain Name Change Form (new window) [an error occurred while processing this directive] Microsoft® Word document.

Note that this change will alter email addresses for all mailing groups in the school, as well as URLs and email addresses printed on school stationery.

What happens when a teacher goes on leave?

It is a school decision whether the account should be deleted or remain active to allow the teacher to send and receive emails.

Should I create MIS accounts for preschoolers?

Any student who has data entered in SMS will have a MIS account created. It is a school decision whether to allow email and Internet access. These privileges can be disallowed in the MIS Admin area under Manage Groups, Change Details.

What do I need to do so that our new Principal receives the Principal's official emails?

Under the MIS Administration tab go to Manage Mailing Groups, Group Members. Select Principal from the drop down list and then follow instructions to add the new Principal to this mailing group. Remove the previous Principal's details before clicking on Save.
