Schools should consider their duty of care in providing safe computer use for their students. The department's commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for students is defined in:

Extended computer use without breaks can lead to physical health problems, such as repetitive strain injuries, skeletal problems and eyestrain. To minimise these risks, schools should:

regulate students' usage;
provide appropriate computer location and furniture and
provide students and staff with information about posture, rest breaks and exercises.
