The 2013 Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) is open to all students from Prep to Year 7 in state, Catholic and independent schools.
There are two categories of registration:
A. Whole-school registration requires the school to select a PRC school coordinator. The PRC school coordinator will be the main contact for all PRC correspondence.
The PRC school coordinator will:
- relay PRC information to all classroom teachers
- make available a reading record form for each participating student
- assist teachers and/or students to record books read on their reading record form
- assist teachers to collate data from the reading record forms and enter them into the spreadsheet template
- upload class spreadsheets or individually enter data from reading record forms into the PRC database by 13 September 2013.
B. Individual class registrations
An individual class registration requires the class teacher to be the main contact for all PRC correspondence.
The class teacher will:
- relay PRC information to all students and parents
- make available a reading record form for each participating student
- assist students to record books read on their reading record form
- collage data from each reading record form into the spreadsheet template
- upload spreadsheet or individually enter data from reading record forms into the PRC database by 13 September 2013.
An individual student registration requires the parent/guardian to be the main contact for all PRC correspondence.
Parents/guardians will:
- register their child on the PRC database
- download and assist their child to complete a reading record form
- enter their child's data from the reading record form into the PRC database by 13 September 2013
- Fax or email the signed reading record form to the PRC project manager.
Each entry on the student's reading record form must be signed by a parent/guardian, teacher, PRC coordinator or librarian.
