Premier's Reading Challenge >

Terms and conditions of entry

In these terms and conditions 'the Department' means the State of Queensland acting through the Department of Education, Training and Employment.

  1. Information on how to enter the challenge forms part of these Terms and Conditions of Entry into the Premier's Reading challenge ('the challenge' or 'PRC'). Submission of an entry will be considered acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  2. All students wishing to participate in the challenge who are attending Queensland state and non-state schools are encouraged to register through their school as arranged by the PRC School Coordinator.
  3. The PRC School Coordinator is responsible for signing off the students' and school's completion of the challenge via the online database by Friday 21 September 2012.
  4. Schools or students who do not finalise their participation in the challenge by Friday 21 September 2012 may not receive a certificate of achievement.
  5. All entries become the property of the Department. No responsibility is taken for late, lost or misdirected entries.
  6. All certificates of achievement will be sent to the students' schools or, in the case of home-educated students or individual participants, to the address stated on the online registration form.
  7. Once all certificates of achievement have been received, the PRC School Coordinator may file or destroy the Reading Record Forms at their own discretion.
  8. The prizes which are on offer will be rewarded to schools who receive 100% participation in the challenge. All prize winners will be selected through a lucky draw. The prizes are not redeemable for cash and are non-transferable.
  9. The prizes will be awarded to the first valid entries selected at random by the Department of Education, Training and Employment. The draw will be final. No correspondence will be entered into.
  10. Although every effort will be made to ensure prizes and certificates are sent to the address stated on the registration form, the Department takes no responsibility for lost or misdirected items not received by students.
  11. As part of the promotion for the challenge, some schools and students may be invited to feature in newspaper stories.
  12. The Department will not be responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any network or lines, servers, providers, computer equipment, software, traffic congestion on the Internet, etc. including, but not limited to, any injury or damage to participants or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in this challenge.
  13. If for any reason the challenge is unable to run as planned, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Department, the Department may at its sole discretion cancel, suspend or modify the challenge.
  14. The Department will not be responsible for any failure by sponsors to fulfil obligations to donate prizes as previously agreed.
  15. The challenge may be withdrawn at any time without notice.
