School Annual Report Instructions

The Annual Reporting Policy for all Queensland Schools and accompanying guidelines can be accessed online by schools.

To assist state schools to meet the obligatory 30 June deadline for publishing the school annual report on the school website, a pre-populated template is emailed to all state school principals.

What information should you provide?

The School Annual Report Template clearly indicates required reporting elements and provides additional instructions in red text. While all items provided in the Template are required to be included in the school annual report, those sections that are not applicable to the schools can be deleted. For example, primary schools may choose to delete the section reporting Year 12 Outcomes.

Whilst it is not necessary to provide any information beyond what is required in the policy and template, additional information about your school and its activities is always welcomed by your community and can be published on your website in other documents.

What writing style should you use?

Always use 'plain English' and not educational jargon. Be brief in what you say.
