Enabling Learners

The Enabling Learners section of the Smart Classrooms strategy focuses on establishing effective learning environments necessary to address the needs of learners in a complex changing world.

Initiatives

  • eLearning for special needs students

    The eLearning for special needs students initiative will deliver the state government's election commitment to provide electronic tablets to students with special needs. The tablets will be provided directly to state special schools, state schools and non-government schools with identified special education programs.

  • Library Services

    The Library Services team offers advice on the business of libraries, as well as library design and contemporary learning spaces. Library Services, holds extensive collections (60,000 plus) of educational resources that are available for loan to teachers via an online catalogue.

  • National Secondary School Computer Fund

    The National Secondary School Computer Fund (NSSCF) is the major funding element of the Australian Government's Digital Education Revolution (DER). It is assisting with the provision of new computers and other information and communication technologies (ICT) equipment for students in Years 9 to 12.

  • Student ICT Expectations

    The Student ICT Expectations can help teachers and school administrators plan meaningful and engaging learning experiences that incorporate the use of ICT. They aim to help students develop their ICT knowledge, understanding, ways of working and skills needed for learning and working in today's digital world.

  • The Digital Classroom

    This project features information, resources and professional development opportunities to support school leaders to understand, plan and develop environments and experiences for students learning in digitally-rich contexts.

  • The Learning Place - student spaces

    The Learning Place delivers digital tools, resources and spaces to support student learning and encourage users to move seamlessly between school, work, home and play. In this learning-centric environment, students have more flexibility and choice over how and when they learn and move from being consumers of information to creators and publishers of new knowledge.
