Laptop image

All Computers for Teachers laptops are delivered to your institute in a pre-deployment state.

Before laptops can be deployed to eligible teaching staff, each must be imaged to reflect your TAFE institute's standard operating environment and associated software applications.

Your TAFE institute needs to determine whether the imaging process is conducted by a suitably qualified TAFE staff member or is outsourced to external companies such as Unisys.

When returning Computers for Teachers laptops, each should be re-imaged.

Re-imaging a returned laptop

All Computers for Teachers laptops need to be re-imaged whenever a teacher returns a laptop.

Whether or not a laptop remains part of an institute's surplus laptop pool or is re-deployed, the re-imaging process must be undertaken.

Re-imaging should only be carried out by your institute's service provider. They will:

  1. conduct the restore process to bring the laptop back to an original pre-deployment state
  2. re-image the laptop to reflect your TAFE institute's standard operating environment and additional software applications.

A Computers for Teachers laptop is ready for re-deployment only after the above process has been performed.
