TAFE Memorandum of Understanding
The TAFE Memorandum of Understanding (PDF, 439k) provides institute directors and teachers with an understanding of their roles and responsibilities in relation to the Computers for Teachers initiative.
It is the responsibility of each TAFE institute to individualise the TAFE Memorandum of Understanding template to ensure it includes an eligible teacher's details and their allocated Computers for Teachers laptop serial number.
It is compulsory for all eligible teachers to read, understand and sign the memorandum before they receive a laptop.
Once the institute and the eligible teacher have signed the memorandum, the agreement should be stored in a secure onsite location for audit purposes.
If a laptop is lost stolen, destroyed, damaged, returned or re-allocated to another eligible teacher, the current memorandum must be cancelled.
A new memorandum should also be created for the replacement laptop. You must ensure this is signed by the teacher who is receiving the replacement laptop.
Failure to comply with the conditions outlined in the memorandum may result in the department revoking the agreement by giving 14 days of written notice for the return of the laptop.
