Warranty repairs: replacement laptops
Replacement PC laptops
The supplier must provide a replacement laptop from its loan-pool when a PC laptop undergoes warranty repairs.
Each loan-pool laptop will be delivered within two business days. This applies to onsite and return-to-base repairs.
If a laptop needs to be returned for warranty repairs, the supplier will organise a courier to deliver a warranty loan-pool laptop. They will also collect the laptop needing to be repaired.
Your TAFE institute needs to ensure laptops needing repair are ready for collection at the time advised by the laptop supplier.
Once off-site repairs are complete, the supplier will contact your institute to arrange the return of the repaired laptop and the collection of the loan-pool unit.
Your institute must ensure the loan-pool unit is ready for collection before the courier arrives.
If it isn't ready, the loan-pool unit will need to be sent to the supplier at your institute's expense.
Replacement Apple MacBooks
Subject to availability, Apple will provide you with a laptop from its loan pool while your MacBook is undergoing warranty repairs.
The replacement laptop will have the same or better functionality, performance and specification as the laptop that is undergoing repairs.
This process will vary if your TAFE institute wishes to use an external accredited authorised vendor or supplier.
Further information on the process for warranty repairs (PDF, 120k) is available.
