Self Insurance Scheme
It is a condition of the Computers for Teachers initiative that all laptops are at all times in a fully serviceable condition or undergoing appropriate repair action to bring the laptop and all accessories up to a fully serviceable condition.
The Computers for Teachers team has established a self insurance scheme to financially assist institutes with the cost of replacing laptops that have experienced fire and flood damage or that have been written-off due to non-warranty damage.
If you want to claim reimbursement for a PC or Apple MacBook laptop, please follow the below instructions:
- for fire and flood damaged laptops, report the damage
- pay the outstanding invoice for the replacement laptop
- submit a Claim for Reimbursement (DOC, 402k) and proof of invoice payment to the Computers for Teachers team.
When this process is complete your institute will be reimbursed through SAP for the replacement costs less a $250.00 administration fee.
Please be aware that during the replacement process institutes do not have to deal with the supplier directly.
