The laptops
Here you will find information on the laptops teachers are now using in state schools.
Since 2006, Computers for Teachers has been providing eligible teachers with the tool of trade they need in today's digital world. The laptop rollout is part of the Queensland Government's commitment to the future of teaching and learning.
If you are a state school teacher who works at least two days a week full-time in a permanent position, you are eligible to receive a laptop computer. If you don't have a laptop, see your school's Smart Classrooms Coordinator. Your business services manager will know who that person is.
To ensure you gain access to the latest technology, the laptop model rolled out changes each financial year.
Every laptop comes with a variety of software and accessories.
Remember the Service Centre can help you with faults and technical difficulties.
The rollout
Since 2006, the Computers for Teachers program has been providing schools with the tool of trade that teachers need in today's digital world.
It's part of the Queensland Government's commitment to the future of teaching and learning.
In 2010, the statewide rollout came to fruition and all schools received laptops for eligible teachers.
The program is now in replacement mode.
Computers for Teachers laptops that have reached the end of their three-year lifespan will be replaced with new model laptops. The Computers for Teachers team are currently finalising collection processes for end of life computers and schools will be contacted when this process is finalised.
