Non-warranty repairs: the process

For PC laptops

Dell laptops

All PC laptop non-warranty repairs are to be logged with the Service Centre 1800 680 445.

When the laptop is sent to the supplier by the school, the supplier's technician will conduct an inspection, raise a quote, and forward the quote to the Computers for Teachers team.

The Computers for Teachers team will forward the school a copy of the quote and the school will be required to approve the debit for this quote.

The Computers for Teachers team will then advise the supplier to complete the repair and return the laptop to the school.

HP laptops

All PC laptop non-warranty repairs are to be logged with the Service Centre 1800 680 445.

When the laptop is to be repaired on site by the supplier (HP) the school will be forwarded a quote. The school is required to raise a purchase order for this quote and forward the quote to the Computers for Teachers team.

The Computers for Teachers team will forward the purchase order to HP to arrange the repair.

When HP has completed the repair the school is to pay the invoice.

The school may make a claim for reimbursement for these non-warranty repairs, please refer to the Self Insurance Scheme.

For Apple MacBooks

When an Apple MacBook Pro requires non-warranty repair, your school will be required to obtain a quote from an Apple repairer.

Once you have received a quote, forward the quote to the Computers for Teachers team for approval. The CFT team will approve/not approve the repair. If the repair is more than 75% of the cost of a replacement laptop the laptop will be written off by Computers for Teachers.

The school will be required to complete the repair and pay the invoices from the Apple repairer.

The school may make a claim for reimbursement for these non-warranty repairs, please refer to the Self Insurance Scheme.
