Warranty repairs: replacement laptops

Replacement PC laptops

The PC laptop supplier is required to provide a replacement laptop for each laptop that undergoes a warranty repair.

This applies to onsite and return-to-base repairs.

These replacement laptops will be delivered to schools within two business days.

Once a return-to-base repair is complete, the supplier will contact your school to arrange the return of the repaired laptop and collection of the replacement laptop.

Your school must ensure the replacement laptop is ready for collection before the courier arrives.

If not, the replacement laptop will need to be sent back to the supplier at your school's expense.

Replacement Dell laptops

If a Dell laptop is unable to be repaired within two business days of the warranty job being logged, the supplier will provide a replacement hot swap device.

Dell hot swap laptops are issued as a permanent replacement for laptops assessed as experiencing damage or fault covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

This applies to onsite and return-to-base repairs.

When issued a hot swap laptop for a warranty repair it is essential the following tasks are undertaken:

Your school must ensure the faulty laptop is ready for collection before the courier arrives.

If not, your school will incur a missed collection fee from the supplier.

Replacement Apple MacBooks

Subject to availability, Apple will provide you with a laptop from its loan-pool while your MacBook is undergoing warranty repairs.

The replacement laptop will have the same or better functionality, performance and specification.
