The Websites for Schools initiative offers state schools a free and easy solution for creating and managing a public school website - providing useful information for current and prospective parents, and community.
Participating schools follow a structured training program, where they learn the latest web publishing skills and techniques. Schools can attend live workshops over iConnect web conferencing, self-paced online modules, or a combination of both formats.
More than 400 new websites have now been created on the Websites for Schools initiative since early 2011.

The department will soon release the QSchools smartphone app which integrates with Websites for Schools websites.
Schools that upgrade to a Websites for Schools website, or already have one, will receive free subscription to the app.
