Whole school gains ICT Certificates

A Far North Queensland school has shown they are 100 per cent behind Education Queensland's initiative to implement ICT into the classroom.

In fact, they are so dedicated that all four teachers at Coen State School have completed the first level of the Smart Classrooms PD Framework.

ICT Certificate: renew

Each ICT Certificate is current for three years from its date of issue.

If your certificate is about to expire, what needs to be done?

Initially, talk with your principal or curriculum leader to help you confirm whether renewing the certificate or progressing further is best for you.

If you decide to renew your certificate, you have two options.

Option 1

Present a new unit plan, work program or series of lessons (evidence) and an updated reflective statement to a Digital Pedagogy Licence holder. To do this, follow the advice on seeking ICT Certificate accreditation.

Option 2

Undertake the Intel© Teach Thinking with Technology Course.

If you completed this course or the Intel Teach Essentials Course three years ago, submit an updated unit plan or program of work, together with an updated reflective statement. To do that, follow the advice in Option 1.

Progressing further by working towards the Digital Pedagogy Licence is the best option as it demonstrates growth in your pedagogy.
