Digital Pedagogy Licence: advice for accredited facilitators
Can I become an accredited facilitator?
You can if you:
- hold a current Digital Pedagogy Licence
- demonstrate excellence in facilitating adult learning in a range of modes
- gain the support of your principal and Regional Technology Manager.
This role is ideal if you enjoy leading your colleagues to embrace digital pedagogy and would value the opportunity to share your knowledge and skills beyond your school.
What's my role?
Being an accredited facilitator is a professionally rewarding experience and an excellent opportunity to work with others to promote effective digital pedagogy.
As an accredited facilitator, you will help your colleagues gain Digital Pedagogy Licence accreditation by delivering professional development proven to be effective.
You need to:
- conduct workshops and online support activities for teachers assigned to you
- assist teachers to make links between digital pedagogy and key strategic initiatives, and enact this in their practice
- review their digital portfolios
- provide them with ongoing peer coaching and mentoring
- work with regional representatives and the Smart Classrooms Professional Development Framework team.
The workshops conducted by you will help your teachers:
- reflect on their beliefs and practices about digital pedagogy
- consider different teaching and learning approaches and how they relate to ICT in education
- share effective practices
- network with other professionals in regards to digital pedagogy
- explore a variety of ICT use in teaching and learning
- receive guidance in planning quality learning experiences where ICT is used to support, enhance, transform or enable learning
- receive guidance in constructing a professional digital portfolio documenting beliefs and practices about digital pedagogy.
You will be supported in your role by regional representatives, including your Regional Technology Manager.
The job requires a significant commitment of time in facilitating professional development and in supporting teachers assigned to you. You will gain support in freeing up your time so you can undertake this work.
How do I become one?
If you are a Digital Pedagogy Licence holder, keep an eye out for expressions of interest inviting you to become an accredited facilitator. They are sent out at times throughout the year.
