ICT Certificate: advice for reviewers

Can I become an ICT Certificate reviewer?

You can review and accredit ICT Certificates if you have a current Digital Pedagogy Licence or Digital Pedagogy Licence Advanced.

As the ICT Certificate emphasises curriculum and planning, principals or their delegates may work in partnership with licence holders.

Whose ICT Certificate can I review?

It's recommended to accredit teachers from within your school. By doing so, you can build upon existing collegial relationships, strengthening the shared culture of the school.

You may also be asked to review ICT Certificates at neighbouring schools, building lateral capacity and networking between teachers and schools.

What's my role?

As a reviewer, you will need to determine that a teacher's planning and practice aligns with the ICT Certificate indicators.

To encourage and support accreditations, follow these steps:

  1. Familiarise yourself with the ICT Certificate indicators
  2. Be available to support teachers to develop their digital portfolios or prepare for professional conversations
  3. Review the digital portfolio or conduct the professional conversation
  4. Both you and the teacher navigate the myframework application to complete the accreditation process
  5. Celebrate the success with the teacher and share with the school community

Guidelines for teachers, Digital Pedagogy Licence holders and principals are available on the ICT Certificate web page.

What's next?

Supporting teachers to attain their ICT Certificate is just the first step in their digital pedagogy journey.

The Smart Classrooms Professional Development Framework is a professional learning guide that can be used to inform and guide developing performance conversations and goal setting.

Teachers working together to attain accreditations with the PD Framework, supports the deprivatisation of teaching by encouraging reflective practices and facilitating conversations explicitly linked to improving practice.

How do I award the ICT Certificate?

Use the ICT Certificate guidelines to support teachers to attain their accreditation.

The Learning Pathway Summing up the ICT Certificate has been created to support schools to undertake the ICT Certificate accreditation process. To access this, log onto the Learning Place, click on Staff Space and enter the Access Key L70560364 (only available for DET staff).

ICT Certificates accreditations need to be completed using the myframework application. For further information, view the myframework OnePortal help centre (only available for DET staff) or contact the myframework team on (07) 3421 6505.

What's in it for me?

Becoming an ICT Certificate reviewer will allow you to help other teachers, by working with them to support their journey to embed ICT into their teaching and learning practices. It will also help you to continue developing your own digital pedagogy.
